About the role
Across our Americas operations, we bring together finance, commercial, and operational expertise to deliver trusted outcomes for our farmers, our customers, and each other. When you join Fonterra, you join a purpose-led organisation where your work genuinely matters.

Based in our Chicago office, this is a senior finance leadership role with real regional scope and global reach.  As Manager, Financial Control Americas, you will be the cornerstone of financial integrity across Fonterra's Americas business ensuring our reporting is accurate, our controls are robust, and our compliance posture is strong across a complex, multi-entity region.

A few areas of focus will be to:
  • Lead financial control and reporting for the Americas region, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and local regulatory requirements across all relevant markets
  • Maintain and continuously strengthen the internal controls environment, including ownership of the Risk and Controls Matrix (RACM) and driving a culture of risk awareness and ethics
  • Spearhead the transition and ongoing governance of outsourced finance services across the region defining service expectations, managing provider performance, and resolving gaps
  • Act as the principal point of contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies, providing timely, accurate advice on compliance obligations and changes in local regulations
  • Partner closely with Head of Finance Partnering Americas, Corporate Finance, and our internal Fonterra Service Hub teams to align financial operations with enterprise strategy and Group Risk & Compliance (GRC) frameworks
  • Build capability within regional finance teams through coaching, training, and education on compliance expectations and ethical standards

About You
We're looking for a senior finance professional who combines deep technical expertise with the leadership presence to influence across a complex, matrixed organisation.  You bring both the rigour of a seasoned financial controller and the agility to operate in an evolving service environment.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • CA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting certification from a recognised body
  • 10+ years of experience in financial management, with a strong focus on financial control and reporting in a complex, multi-entity environment
  • Deep expertise in US GAAP and IFRS and ability to navigate technical accounting questions and translate them into practical outcomes
  • Deep knowledge of end-to-end finance processes including Record to Report (RTR), and familiarity with Source to Pay (STP) and Invoice to Cash (ITC)
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and monitor internal controls frameworks, including risk identification and remediation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, you can engage confidently with external auditors, regulators, and senior business leaders
  • Understanding of local financial regulation, tax compliance, and ESG requirements relevant to the Americas
