About the role


Reporting to the Senior FSQ & Regulatory Affairs Manager (SEA), the Regulatory Affairs & FSQ Manager is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and food safety and quality (FSQ) assurance for products and operations in their market. This role supports market access, product integrity, and brand protection by managing regulatory submissions, monitoring legislative developments, and overseeing FSQ systems and standards. It acts as a key in-market contact for regulatory authorities and foodservice customers, while supporting the implementation of regional FSQ and regulatory frameworks. The position reports to the Head of FSQ and Regulatory Affairs, SEA and works closely with the rest of the FSQ and Regulatory team.


Key Accountabilities


Regulatory Compliance & Market Access:

Ensure compliance with local food regulations, labelling requirements, and product registration processes. Interface directly with customs authorities to resolve clearance issues and facilitate the timely movement of goods. Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and communicate implications to internal stakeholders. Support market access by maintaining strong relationships with regulatory authorities and certification bodies. Engage with customer authorities to proactively resolve clearance issues, ensuring timely and compliant movement of goods. Oversee product registration processes and manage quota allocations where applicable, ensuring all products meet regulatory requirements for market entry and ongoing compliance. Coordinate regulatory submissions and ensure documentation is accurate and aligned with internal and external standards. 


Food Safety & Quality Assurance:

Implement and maintain FSQ systems and standards in line with regional frameworks and local regulatory requirements. Oversee product release processes, including inspection, testing, and documentation review. Conduct risk assessments and support incident management and product recall processes. Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure product quality and compliance. 


Stakeholder Engagement:

Act as the primary in-market contact for regulatory and FSQ matters, including engagement with government agencies, industry bodies, and foodservice customers. Provide technical support and guidance to commercial teams on regulatory and FSQ topics. Represent the organisation in regulatory forums and industry working groups. 


Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of regulatory approvals, FSQ audits, and compliance documentation. Prepare reports and dashboards on regulatory and FSQ performance metrics. Support internal and external audits and inspections. 


Capability Building & Continuous Improvement:

Provide training and guidance to in-market teams on regulatory and FSQ processes. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices. Support the implementation of regional initiatives and tools related to FSQ and regulatory affairs.


About You


Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Technology, Law, or a related discipline. 

At least 5–8 years of experience in regulatory affairs and/or food safety and quality roles, preferably in FMCG or dairy. 

Strong knowledge of in-market food regulations and international FSQ standards (e.g. Codex, HACCP, ISO). 

Experience with regulatory submissions, customs clearance, quota management, product registration, halal requirements and compliance, and FSQ systems. Skilled in audit management and complaint handling. 

Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills.
