About the Opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga
As Senior Manager, Group Financial Control, you’ll play a critical role at the centre of Group Finance, partnering closely with the Head of Group Financial Control and senior stakeholders across the business.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you’ll shape how financial reporting is delivered across a complex, global organisation, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and confidence in Fonterra’s external disclosures.  You’ll bring deep technical expertise to guide key accounting decisions, support strategic transactions, and elevate reporting standards across the Group.

You’ll lead the preparation of half-year and annual financial statements, working closely with global finance teams and external auditors, while also driving continuous improvement in reporting processes, systems, and ways of working.

This is a permanent opportunity, based at our Auckland CBD head office.  

Key areas of focus include:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to finance teams (including shared services) to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Lead the end-to-end preparation of Group and Shareholders’ Fund financial statements at half year and year end
  • Provide technical accounting leadership on complex and strategic transactions, including M&A
  • Leading impairment testing for goodwill, brands and equity accounted investments
  • Partnering with external auditors and supporting Audit & Finance Committee processes
  • Influence and uplift financial reporting practices across global finance teams
  • Manage outsourced service providers and coordinating inputs from multiple teams across the Group
  • Drive improvements in reporting processes, capability, and systems
About You | Mōu
You’re a technically strong finance leader who enjoys operating at the centre of complexity bringing clarity, sound judgement, and practical solutions to high impact decisions.

You combine deep financial reporting expertise with the ability to influence and partner across a global organisation.  Comfortable working at pace, you’re able to navigate ambiguity, balance competing priorities, and lead teams through critical reporting cycles.

You’ll bring:
  • CA (or equivalent) and a strong foundation in financial and consolidation accounting 
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to influence without direct authority 
  • Significant experience in external reporting within a complex or listed environment 
  • Deep expertise in financial and consolidation accounting
  • Experience leading and developing high performing teams in deadline driven environments
  • Experience in FMCG, dairy or manufacturing environments (preferred)
