He kupu mō mātou | About us

Fonterra's Pahiatua Farms are located 5 minutes either side of the Pahiatua township and approximately 35 minutes from Palmerston North.

Tui Farm is 170ha milking through a 30ASHB Once-A-Day.

O'Brien Farm is 144ha milking through a 40ASHB with ACR’s Once-A-Day.

We also have a small 20ha support block where we rear our calves and winter our heifers.

This is a casual role where you will be reporting to our Pahiatua Farms Manager. Duties will predominantly include milking in the mornings however other work can be available to work in with hours that suit both parties.  

Cups are on at 5am at both our sheds with morning milking finishing around 7.30am. 

Key focuses of the role:

 

  • Milk harvesting in an efficient and quiet manner 
  • Assist farm management with animal health and welfare requirements 
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of stock and animal health treatments
  • Complying with the requirements of the Health & Safety in Employment Act
  • You will assist the farm team to keep the milking shed maintained to a high standard and ensure that we supply premium quality milk every day!

Subject to the candidate’s experience, this role will pay between $26 - $30 per hour with 8% holiday pay     



Mōu | About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

  • Milking experience is not essential but is beneficial
  • Positive and can-do attitude is a must!
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • This is a drive-in position so a driver’s license and own vehicle to get to/from the farm is a must.
