Position Description

Imagine Tomorrow with Us | Ata whakaarohia tō āpōpō
At Fonterra Te Mātāpuna, we want everyone to feel they can be themselves.

Whether you're early in your career or ready for your next step, Fonterra offers a unique opportunity to grow with a global dairy co-operative that values care, collaboration, and contribution.

Owned by New Zealand dairy farmers and supported by a dedicated team, we are all working together to create a better future. Imagine tomorrow with us, where your career can grow, and you can create positive change.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity

As a People Solutions Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience and enabling people leaders across the Coop. This is a high‑impact role that blends expert HR advice, strong judgement, and continuous improvement to deliver meaningful outcomes for our people and the business.

You’ll join our Contracts and Onboarding portfolio, where you’ll take end‑to‑end ownership of key onboarding and employment contract processes. As a trusted subject matter expert, you’ll ensure organisational structures, contracts, and onboarding experiences are accurate, compliant, and delivered seamlessly.

In this role, you’ll guide leaders and new starters through the full onboarding lifecycle — maintaining organisational data, preparing digital contracts, and ensuring everyone is informed and ready for day one. You’ll identify risks early, resolve issues quickly, and influence outcomes that support operational efficiency and a positive employee experience.

You’ll bring together people‑centred service and trusted‑advisor confidence, delivering clear, proactive advice by phone and email while helping leaders make smart, people‑focused decisions. You’ll tackle challenges with sound judgement, escalating where needed, and contribute to new initiatives, policies, processes, and technology. You’ll look for better ways of working and enhancing service quality, sharing knowledge openly and helping shape a positive, high‑performing service culture.

Please note, this is a fixed term contract opportunity until Jan 2027.

We believe great teams are built on diversity of background, experience, and perspective. You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced environment where your ideas are welcomed, your expertise is trusted, and your development is actively supported. This role offers strong exposure across the Coop and clear opportunities to grow your impact and career.

Mōu | About You

You’re an experienced HR practitioner with strong people skills, sound judgement, and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset. You bring curiosity, confidence, and care to your work, and you’re comfortable operating as a trusted advisor in a complex environment. You’ll bring 3–5 years’ experience in an HR environment, with contract generation and advisory work strongly preferred.

You have a solid understanding of employment legislation and hands‑on experience in shared services or fast‑paced HR settings, where prioritisation, adaptability, and collaboration are essential. You navigate ambiguity well and know how to balance risk, compliance, and a great employee experience.

You’re thoughtful, resilient, and motivated to make a meaningful contribution. If you enjoy solving complex problems, supporting leaders, and being the go‑to expert for contracts, systems, and onboarding, this role offers an excellent next step — with clear pathways into a People Solutions Consultant role.

You’ll bring strong experience working with employment contracts — including drafting, interpretation, and quality assurance — and confidence working with technology and HR systems across connected platforms. With a continuous‑improvement mindset, you’ll identify and implement smarter ways of working, and use your subject‑matter expertise to influence, challenge constructively, and provide trusted guidance.

We're always on the lookout for more talented individuals to join our People Solutions team, across our many roles and portfolios.  If you're interested or want more information, submit your details now to be considered for future opportunities.
