Position Description

Imagine Tomorrow with Us | Ata whakaarohia tō āpōpō

At Fonterra, we want everyone to feel they can be themselves.

Whether you're early in your career or ready for your next step, Fonterra offers a unique opportunity to grow with a global dairy co-operative that values care, collaboration, and contribution.

Owned by New Zealand dairy farmers and supported by a dedicated team, we are all working together to create a better future. Imagine tomorrow with us, where your career can grow, and you can create positive change.

He kupu mō mātou | About Us | Farm Source

We love Kiwi dairy farmers and know they’re pretty awesome. For generations, they’ve relied on hard work, ingenuity, and each other to create the kind of goodness that fuels our families, connects our communities, and supports our economy.
At Farm Source, that same co-operative spirit drives our team. We make farming easier so farmers can focus on what they do best – producing high-quality New Zealand milk in the most sustainable way.

This means growing and supporting the right people – those with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves. Whether you’re getting your gumboots dirty on-farm or connecting with customers over a coffee in-store, you’ll be part of a trusted team backed by great people, quality products, innovative solutions, and industry-leading expertise.

So why not join us?

Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity

By joining our nationwide Farm Source store team, you’re stepping into a role that builds both your agricultural knowledge and your career pathways within the wider Co-op.

We’re looking for a superstar Office Admin/Sales Specialist to join our Otorohanga store, supporting farmers across the wider Otorohanga and surrounding rural community. This is an in-store role, so being locally based or within easy commuting distance is important.

Our Otorohanga store is a close-knit, high-performing team with strong local relationships, and plays a key role in supporting our farming customers day to day.

In this role, you’ll provide practical product advice, support store operations, and deliver excellent customer service that keeps our local farmers coming back.

You’ll get stuck into a variety of tasks, from merchandising and stocking shelves to ensuring the store is welcoming and well-presented.

Alongside this, you’ll also support the smooth running of the store through administrative tasks, including:
  • Processing customer orders and invoices
  • Updating product pricing and stock levels in our systems
  • Maintaining accurate records and store filing
  • Assisting with stock control and inventory checks
  • Supporting end-of-day cash balancing and banking preparation
  • General office administration to support the wider team
No two days are the same in this fast-paced, hands-on role!

With the opportunity to grow your agricultural expertise and explore future career pathways, there’s no better place to start or continue your journey.

Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm + rotating Saturdays (9:00am – 12:00pm)

Mōu | About You

You’ll be a self-motivated and adaptable team player with strong customer service and communication skills. You enjoy working with people, can manage a mix of physical and administrative tasks, and take pride in doing a job well.

You’ll also bring:
  • A high level of physical fitness (lifting 25kg bags is part of the role)
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with admin and systems
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • A willingness to learn and take initiative
Ideally, you’ll have:
  • Previous experience in customer service or retail
  • A connection to the agricultural industry (beneficial, not essential)
  • A clean driver’s licence
Whether you’re coming off the farm or looking to build your agri-knowledge in a retail environment, we’d love to hear from you.
