At Fonterra, we want everyone to feel they can be themselves.

Whether you're early in your career or ready for your next step, Fonterra offers a unique opportunity to grow with a global dairy co-operative that values care, collaboration, and contribution.

Owned by New Zealand dairy farmers and supported by a dedicated team, we are all working together to create a better future. Imagine tomorrow with us, where your career can grow, and you can create positive change.

He kupu mō mātou | About us
Fonterra is a global dairy co operative owned by New Zealand farming families. Our operations span complex manufacturing, processing, and logistics networks, supplying nutrition to millions of people worldwide.

Within Fonterra, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) oversees asset‑intensive, high‑hazard operations that require disciplined operational risk management. Effective risk control and resilience are critical to protecting people, product, communities, and performance.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity
As Manager, Risk Systems & Reporting, you’ll play a critical role in making risk information clear, trusted, and decision-ready across the COO function.  This role builds and owns a single source of truth for COO risk, bringing together risk data, controls, indicators, and actions into consistent, high-quality reporting that leaders can rely on.

A few areas of focus will be to:
  • Own, curate, and evolve the operational risk systems of record, ensuring data is proportional to risk, accurate, auditable, and practical in application
  • Design concise dashboards and reporting packs that highlight what matters, what’s changing, and where action is required
  • Translate measurable indicators and risk guiderails that track risk appetite and business unit exposure, trends, and performance exceptions
  • Significantly reduce manual or pass-through reporting via automation and improved data discipline
  • Enable risk owners and teams to confidently use tools, templates, and reporting approaches
This role reports to the General Manager, Risk and reports into the Office of the CFO while being based in either Auckland or Hamilton.

Mōu | About You
You’re a systems-minded risk or data professional who enjoys simplifying complexity and turning information into insight leaders can act on. You’re comfortable working across functions, setting standards, and building trust in data.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • A tertiary qualification in data/analytics, information systems, business performance improvement, or related discipline
  • 7+ years’ experience designing and interrogating performance monitoring systems, integrating disconnected information into knowledge, enterprise dashboarding, and delivering clear performance outputs for complex operational environments
  • Strong capability in reporting, analytics, and data visualisation tools (i.e., PowerBI)
  • Demonstrated experience curating and governing a single source of truth, with strong data quality and measure definition discipline
  • Experience translating business needs into clear measures, trends, thresholds, and exceptions
  • Exposure and passion for automation, advanced analytics, or emerging technologies, with machine learning or large language model capability (e.g. graph RAG or DAG) highly desirable
  • Strong stakeholder negotiation skills, with the confidence to influence and persuade consistent ways of working
