Our Fonterra Collingwood Street site is the largest consumer and foodservice cheese manufacturing plant in the Asia/Pacific region and is the home of cheddar, sliced and grated cheese. Along with these, we produce more than 350 individual specification products for Mainland, Anchor, Valumetric, Perfect Italiano, Meadow Fresh and Chesdale.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity
 As one of our Maintenance Team Leaders for our Collingwood Street site, you will lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training and support to ensure optimal plant performance.  As the main conduit between our Maintenance and Production teams, you will ensure that the lines are working efficiently, develop standards to eliminate loses and proactively seek opportunities to improve maintenance activities.
 
Reporting to our Maintenance Manager, your key responsibilities include:
 
- Providing direction and leadership to the Collingwood Street Site Maintenance Team.
- Coordinating and continually upskilling Maintenance personnel providing a safe and worthwhile work environment.
- Own the maintenance improvement, breakdown elimination strategies and related losses.
- Ensure that all maintenance tasks have been planned, organised, and executed to a high standard in accordance the MP&S procedures.
- Responsible for eliminating unnecessary maintenance and responding to breakdown related downtime.
- Play a key role in Asset Strategy and Preventative Maintenance standards.
- Play an active role in leading Maintenance Best Practice across the plant.
 
This is a Monday to Friday, day role.   

Mōu | About You
We are looking for a strong people leader with demonstrated background in either mechanical or electrical trade disciplines.
With a focus on standards creation, maintenance improvement, you will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.  Your passion for problem-solving and root-cause analysis coupled with your ability to work across several teams will see you succeed in this pivotal role.
 
This role is ideal for a seasoned tradesperson, or maintenance professional who has a keen interest in progressing their career and looking to gain experience in a leadership position.
 
Additional skills you will bring to this role:
- Certified Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance Tradesman or Equivalent Experience.
- Experience in a production / manufacturing environment
- Proven technical mastery of equipment and able to develop this in others.
- Profound understanding of mechanical processes and working understanding of electrical processes are desired.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify safety, asset and cost opportunities
- Ability to lead and manage change and implement improvement initiatives along with team coaching and conflict resolution
- Understanding and application of Asset Management systems and processes
- Good computer skills with the ability to present to large groups and experience within SAP & Microsoft project
