About the role

As a Maintenance Instrumentation Electrician, you’ll use your solid electrical experience to navigate through changing work priorities to plan and implement preventative maintenance/calibration activities particularly around our bulk cheese manufacturing and whey processing.

You’ll be a key member of the Maintenance Team with a strong focus on Health and Safety and maintenance best practices. Your forward thinking, drive, and ability to achieve results will benefit you here, as you’ll have plenty of scope to drive continuous improvement on equipment and process reliability with some of the industry's leading-edge automated technology. 

A natural at coping with change, you’ll be capable of reacting to unplanned breakdowns and troubleshooting issues as they occur. Additional areas of focus will include instrumentation services and calibrations, maintenance of site PLC’s and associated equipment, and updating and writing standard operating procedures.

Operating in a 24/7 production environment, this role is a great opportunity to work as part of a close-knit technical team and test your skills.

 This role operates on a 38 hour per week roster, availability for shift coverage may be required and from time-to-time availability for On Call is a requirement.

About You

You will need to be a registered A-grade electrician with a current practitioner’s licence. Other beneficial skills and experience include:
  • Experience with PLC’s.
  • Strong instrumentation background and experience – preferably instrument endorsed
  • Strong diagnostic skills and dealing with breakdowns
  • Knowledge of CMMS ideally MEX
  • Exposure to a fast-paced packing or automated environment
  • Knowledge of IWS or TPM would be highly beneficial
  • Proven work experience in a maintenance role (dairy or food processing, or pharmaceutical) advantageous 
  • Experience in general maintenance functions such as equipment repair, failure analysis to root cause and preventative maintenance in an industrial environment
  • Ability to assist production teams with process changes & control loop tuning
