Our Co-operative

Ata whakaarohia tō āpōpō | Imagine Tomorrow with Us
At Fonterra, we want everyone to feel they can be themselves.

Whether you're early in your career or ready for your next step, Fonterra offers a unique opportunity to grow with a global dairy co-operative that values care, collaboration, and contribution.

Owned by New Zealand dairy farmers and supported by a dedicated team, we are all working together to create a better future. Imagine tomorrow with us, where your career can grow, and you can create positive change.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity
Our Capability Design team helps people do their best work by creating learning experiences that are practical, engaging, and drive real world performance.

We have two exciting opportunities available: Learning Designer and Senior Learning Designer.

As a Learning Designer, you’ll help create practical, engaging blended learning experiences that support real performance outcomes. Working collaboratively with project teams, you’ll contribute to discovery activities, design learner journeys, and develop content aligned to clear learning outcomes across formats such as workshops, guides, eLearning, and video. You’ll use established tools and design standards to ensure quality and consistency, support pilots and testing, and refine solutions based on feedback from stakeholders and users, guided by Senior Learning Designers and the Learning Experience Lead, with a strong focus on user experience.

As a Senior Learning Designer, you’ll lead the end to end design process, from guiding discovery and shaping learning approaches through to development and high quality delivery. With a strong project leadership focus, you’ll coordinate cross functional teams, including learning and digital designers and external partners, and work closely with stakeholders, consultants, and delivery teams to ensure solutions meet business needs. You’ll also mentor team members and promote consistent design practice, bringing a deep understanding of user needs and context to everything you create.

Mōu | About You
We’re looking for learning design professionals who are passionate about creating practical, engaging learning that drives performance. You’ll bring a relevant qualification in learning design, adult education, psychology, communications, or equivalent experience, along with strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a focus on quality and user experience.

For Learning Designers, you’ll also bring:

  • Experience designing and developing learning resources across multiple formats
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to translate technical content into learner friendly language
  • Comfort using Microsoft tools and basic eLearning authoring platforms (e.g. Rise)
  • Experience working in project teams with SMEs and stakeholders

For Senior Learning Designers, you’ll also bring:

  • Significant experience designing learning that drives performance and behaviour change
  • Confidence leading complex or large scale design projects and engaging senior stakeholders
  • Deep expertise in instructional design, user centred approaches, and behavioural science
  • Experience mentoring others and lifting team capability
