He kupu mō mātou | About us
Based in Longburn, only 5 minutes’ drive to Palmerston North, Longburn Farms is made up of two dairy farms and two support blocks. Thornton Park Farm is a predominantly flat farm of 200ha milking platform and an 80ha support block which boundaries onto the Manawatu river. 

Neighbouring Thornton Park Farm is our Innesmoor Farm, which is a largely flat farm of 130ha which milking 350 cows though a 32 a side herringbone shed and is supported by our Braeburn 50ha support block.

With the two dairy farms and support blocks neighbouring each other, we transfer cows between the farms to best utilise our pasture, infrastructure and a team of 10 full-timers and casuals. By combining resources of the farms we can offer a variety of jobs types during the day as well as a competitive work roster.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity
We are looking for casual employees to keep our two milking sheds pumping this season! We can offer flexible hours/days to suit these roles within our milking roster. 

Putting your rural knowledge and love for agriculture to work with us will be a positive move for our farmers and your future. Like us, you're passionate about rural life and agricultural people and it's your expertise that means there are no boundaries to what can be achieved.

This is a casual role where you will be reporting to our Farms Manager. Full training is provided and duties will predominantly include milking either morning or afternoon milkings (or both). Further work between milkings can be available with hours that suit both parties. 

Cups on time is 5am at both our herring bone and rotary sheds, morning milking will be finished around 7.30am. Cups on in the afternoon is 2pm and finish up between 3.30pm and 4.30pm 

Key focuses of the role: 
Milk harvesting in an efficient and quiet manner 
Assist farm management with animal health and welfare requirements 
Assist in maintaining accurate records of stock and animal health treatments
Complying with the requirements of the Health & Safety in Employment Act

You will assist the farm team to keep the milking shed maintained to a high standard and ensure that we supply premium quality milk every day.

This casual opportunity provides a solid foundation in the farming industry and valuable hands-on experience for future career growth and you would be considered for permanent opportunities as they arise.    
  
Mōu | About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

Milking experience is preferred but not essential
Positive and can-do attitude is a must!
Strong communication and relationship building skills
This is a drive-in position so drivers license and your own vehicle reliable transport is a must.
