At Fonterra, our strength lies in our commitment to sustainable practices and innovation. The Nutrient Management team within Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory is dedicated to the sustainable management of nutrients from Fonterra’s manufacturing sites across New Zealand. We manage 29 Fonterra-owned farms, focusing on the management, sale, transportation, and spreading of nutrient-dense streams. Our vision is to achieve sustainable nutrient management on farms, adhering to Fonterra’s Global Sustainability standards and guidelines, while maximizing the value of nutrients and secondary products.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity
We are looking for a casual Farm Assistant to keep our two sheds running smoothly this spring. We can offer flexible hours and days to fit around our milking roster. If you’re passionate about rural life, your expertise will help us achieve great results.

In this casual role, you will report to our Farms Manager. Duties will predominantly include morning milkings on our OAD K3 Farm, milking up to 450 cows through a 44-a-side herringbone shed. Cups are on by 5:00 am. Additional work may be available after morning milking, with hours to suit both parties. You will assist the farm team to keep the milking shed maintained to a high standard and ensure that we supply premium quality milk every day!
Depending on experience, milkings may also be available at our K1 Farm (twice-a-day milking).

Mōu | About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
A minimum of two years’ milking experience (preferred)
A positive, can-do attitude
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
This is a drive-in role, so a full driver’s licence and your own reliable transport are required
