Our Co-operative
Ata whakaarohia tō āpōpō | Imagine Tomorrow with Us
At Fonterra, we want everyone to feel they can be themselves.

Whether you're early in your career or ready for your next step, Fonterra offers a unique opportunity to grow with a global dairy co-operative that values care, collaboration, and contribution.

Owned by New Zealand dairy farmers and supported by a dedicated team, we are all working together to create a better future. Imagine tomorrow with us, where your career can grow, and you can create positive change.

He kupu mō mātou | About us

At Fonterra, our People & Culture function is central to enabling safe, compliant, and high performing operations across our global business. Our Capability team enables learning that supports people to perform their roles with both confidence and competence to keep our people, communities, and products safe.

We operate in a complex, fast paced, and highly regulated environment where credibility, collaboration, and adaptability matter just as much as technical expertise.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a Capability Consultant – Compliance to lead the design and delivery of compliance and Licence to Operate (LTO) learning and capability programmes across Fonterra, supporting the safety of our people, communities, and products.

This is a senior, delivery focused consulting role with clear accountability for outcomes. You’ll lead multiple compliance initiatives at a programme level, maintaining momentum while adapting to shifting priorities, emerging risks, and evolving regulatory expectations.

Success in this role goes beyond technical compliance expertise. You’ll bring a strong analytical and curious mindset, driven to understand the why—using data and insight to uncover root causes, ask the right questions, see the bigger picture, and translate complexity into meaningful learning and capability solutions.

At its core, this is a people centred role, grounded in genuine care for safety and a continuous improvement mindset. You’ll look for ways to simplify and strengthen compliance capability, balancing delivery pressure with thoughtful, evidence based decisions.

You will:
  • Lead the end to end delivery of multiple compliance and Licence to Operate (LTO) learning initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, building strong relationships to clarify problems and shape fit for purpose learning solutions.
  • Own and continuously improve core compliance capability foundations, aligned with NZQA and internal standards.
  • Use data, insight, and feedback to assess capability needs, define success, and drive improvement

Mōu | About You

You bring a strong balance of people capability, delivery discipline, learning expertise, and analytical thinking. You’re comfortable operating in complex, regulated environments and confident managing competing priorities while keeping focus on safe, compliant outcomes.

You’ll likely have a tertiary qualification in Education, Learning & Development, HR, Business, or a related field, along with experience delivering compliance or regulated learning programmes, ideally within operational or highly complex settings. You’re naturally curious, driven to understand how and why things work, and skilled at turning data, insight, and questions into practical, effective solutions.

At your core, you’re people centred. You influence through credibility rather than authority, aren’t afraid to ask challenging questions, and take an elevated view to connect immediate issues to the broader system and strategy. You bring a genuine commitment to health, safety, and compliance in everything you do.

You’ll be known for:
  • Delivering complex programmes or projects with competing priorities and clear outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability across varied levels of seniority.
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication.
