He kupu mō mātou | About us
Established in 1881, our Edendale manufacturing site is New Zealand’s oldest dairy processing site and with 13 plants, we produce 14 million bags of milk powder each year for export and process up to 15 million litres of milk every day in peak season.


Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity
Joining us as a Canteen Assistant, you will play a key part in a small, hard-working team providing exceptional food quality and customer service at our onsite Canteen supporting 700+ staff, contractors and visitors.

Day to day you’ll be involved in the preparation of food and meals, taking food orders, serving customers at the till, stocktaking, undertaking stringent hygiene and cleaning duties. We are looking for a passionate and innovative foodie who is interested in contributing to ways we can make our customers happy and take our canteen to the next level!

This role is Rostered Days (4 on, 4 off) with the typical hours being 5am to 3.30pm. 

You will receive full training to make sure we meet auditing and compliance requirements and there are lots of opportunities for you to grow and develop with us.

   
Mōu | About You
We’re looking for a natural cook assistant that can work in a fast-paced environment, supporting all the aspects of the canteen. If collaborating on new food ideas and customer experiences excites you then we’d love to hear from you. 

Ideally you will have:
Previous experience from within the hospitality and catering industries or with bulk food preparation 
Excellent communication and customer services skills, can-do attitude and commitment to service delivery is an absolute must 
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations 
Experience operating a till, cash handling and stock ordering 
Basic computer and numeracy skills 
Ability to collaborate and work well within a team
