He kupu mō mātou | About us
Our Hautapu site is in the heart of the Waikato and has been a leader in dairy manufacturing for more than 130 years. It’s our headquarters for our protein and cheese technical teams and specialises in producing high value products such as casein, whey protein concentrate, hydrolysate, lactoferrin and milk protein concentrate as well as a wide range of cheeses including Organic, Colby, Edam, Gouda, Noble and Egmont.

Hautapu Farms is approximately 840 Hectares in area and annually exports around 5.5 million kilograms of dry matter as grass and maize silage and grazes 800 head of cattle.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity
As the Assistant Farms Manager role you will be responsible for supporting the Farms Manager and contributing to the farms performance in achieving national and global objectives.

You will be an all-rounder, lending your hand to ensure the farms operate in a safe and successful manner. You’ll be involved in all aspects of our cut and carry and dry stock farm operations including stock work, farm maintenance, weed spraying, record keeping, contractor liaison and machinery operation.

Mōu | About You
You will be comfortable safely undertaking a range of farming activities and have experience farming. You will be a self-starter and be able to work unsupervised with a passion to learn and grow. You will have a strong background in animal management.
You will ideally also bring to the role:
  • Experience working with farm management software (FarmIQ is highly advantageous)
  • Have a strong focus on health and safety
  • Be a team player
  • A genuine passion for farming
  • Take pride in the presentation of the farms, as well as a good sense of humour!
  • Agribusiness or farming education would also be well regarded in this role.
  • A desire to progress within the industry
