Role purpose

To lead business development and account management efforts in Malaysia, driving customer acquisition, market expansion, and long-term commercial partnerships. This role is pivotal in identifying new business opportunities, nurturing key customer relationships, and delivering value through tailored solutions aligned with Fonterra’s global ingredients strategy.

Key Accountabilities
  • Drive revenue and volume growth through proactive business development.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with key customers and prospects.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities into long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated customer solutions.
  • Ensure alignment with regional and global commercial strategies.
Responsibilities
  • Lead market expansion and go-to-market strategies in Malaysia.
  • Serve as the primary contact for key accounts, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and demand plans with supply chain and finance.
  • Negotiate contracts and commercial terms to secure profitable deals.
  • Work closely with technical, supply chain, and marketing teams.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer insights to inform strategy and decision-making.

What You’ll Bring

Education & Experience
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, International Trade, or related field
  • 5+ years in business development, account management, or commercial roles in Malaysia 
  • Proven success in developing new markets or customer segments
  • Experience in B2B or ingredients sectors
  • Exposure to cross-cultural and global environments
Technical Skills
  • Sales strategy development and execution
  • Account management and customer planning
  • Demand forecasting and planning
  • Commercial reporting and performance analytics
  • Negotiation and contract management
