Mō tēnei tūranga | About the opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will serve as one of the key Finance Business Partner for the Global Engineering & Technical (GET) and Operations Optimisation (OO) functions. Your role will involve delivering financial analysis and decision support to GET and OO Management as well as Capital Projects Head of Portfolios. You will facilitate data-driven decisions, monitor financial performance, and provide comprehensive financial oversight across the portfolios. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the transition to new ways of working under the Future Finance Programme, driving continuous improvement and financial accountability.

Your key responsibilities include:
  • Providing financial insights and recommendations to business leaders to support strategic decision-making .
  • Delivering accurate and timely financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to ensure stakeholders understand the financial health of capital projects and the business unit.
  • Leading financial planning, analysis, and scenario modelling to support strategic decisions.
  • Contributing to the commercial assessment of key transformation projects.
  • Overseeing performance management frameworks and KPI tracking.
  • managing budgeting, planning and forecasting processes supported by The Service Hub in alignment with Group policies, governance and standards.
  • Partnering with project teams and senior stakeholders to deliver insights, manage costs, and ensure financial compliance.
  • Collaborating with The Service Hub to ensure accurate and timely financial outputs.
  • Coaching and supporting project teams to strengthen financial capabilities and drive improved commercial outcomes.
  • Driving continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting tools.

This role can be based in Auckland or Hamilton.


Mōu | About you 

As a seasoned finance professional, you possess extensive experience in capital project accounting and commercial leadership. Your strategic mindset, analytical skills, and ability to influence at all levels of the organisation are commendable.

You’ll bring:
  • Significant experience in capital project accounting
  • Deep knowledge of project management principles 
  • Strong financial planning & analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills
  • Proven stakeholder management and communication abilities
  • Experience with CapEx/OpEx planning and SAP/MS Suite tools
  • Experience with leading change programmes and leading commercial elements of major commercial or industrial construction projects
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Commercial or Accounting
  • Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) membership preferred
