Mō tēnei tūranga | About the opportunity
The primary purpose of the Regional HSW Manager role is to provide leadership, coaching, mentoring and support to the HSW teams and key stakeholders across SEASA and MEA, while ensuring alignment with the Mainland Group strategy and joint ownership for the delivery of HSW plans and achievement of KPIs and results.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provide strategic oversight of HSW systems and programs across the SEASA and MEA regions, ensuring consistent implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement through targeted audits and site engagement.
- Act as a senior advisor to HSW teams and business leaders, guiding the identification and execution of risk mitigation strategies that drive continuous improvement across critical Process Safety and other Operational Risks.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise-wide processes, including escalation protocols, learning reviews, and the integration of shared insights to strengthen organizational resilience.
- Work with the Mainland Group HSW team to on the development and regional deployment of HSW strategic plans, ensuring alignment with local operational needs.
- Foster a culture of safety leadership by mentoring HSW professionals and influencing senior stakeholders to embed ownership, accountability, and proactive risk management across all levels.
- Drive performance excellence by through joint ownership and delivery of HSW KPIs, advancing Master Plans, and supporting the reduction of claims through targeted interventions.
- Lead and support Learning Reviews for significant incidents and systemic failures, ensuring outcomes inform strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
- Own the safety metrics and leverage data analytics to monitor trends, validate incident reporting integrity, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ensure proactive communication and change management regarding legislative updates, procedural changes, and system enhancements across all relevant teams and stakeholders.
- Provide hands-on support during external audits (across sales offices) and in the absence of site HSW leadership, ensuring continuity and compliance.
- Champion capability development by delivering center-led training programs and embedding HSW excellence across the region.
- Lead the HSE Integrated Work System (IWS) pillar, driving operational consistency and embedding safety into core business processes.
- Represent the HSW function in regional leadership forums, delivering performance updates and strategic insights to executive teams (i.e. SEASA & MEA Lead Team Meetings and MBR)
- Undertake additional strategic initiatives as directed by the Director of HSW, contributing to the broader organizational health, safety, and wellbeing agenda.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety (H&S) or equivalent (essential).
- 10+ years of experience in Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) in FMCG/high-risk manufacturing environments.
- 5–7+ years of leadership, including managing HSW and injury management teams, auditing, and presenting to senior leadership.
- ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training (essential).
- ISO45001 Lead Auditor certification (desired).
- Certification in training and assessment (desired).
- Capability to issue Permits to Work (desired).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power BI (desired).
