Our Clandeboye site has been in operation since 1904, and as one of Fonterra’s largest manufacturing sites employs over 1,000 people. The site has a diverse range of production facilities including an Energy Centre, Wastewater Treatment Plant, 3 Powder Plants, a Protein Plant that supplies Lactose across South Island Operations, 3 Cheese Plants which make our world class Mozzarella, and a Cream Operation made up of a Milk Treatment, AMF and award-winning Butter Plant. The team fills more than 10,000 containers of dairy products every year, ready to be shipped around New-Zealand and exported to more than 50 countries. 

Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity
We have a permanent opportunity available for a forklift driver to join our Dry Store team at Clandeboye
This is a rostered day shift of three days on, three days off. The role begins with a structured training period and the opportunity to step up after three months. From there, you can choose to develop your career into a senior role with the potential to grow into team leadership responsibilities

There is plenty of variety from loading and unloading trucks for domestic moves and export containers, stock management through to delivering packaging and ingredients to various departments around our Clandeboye site. 

Key responsibilities include:
  • Adhering to Fonterra Health and Safety protocols and values
  • Loading pallets to ensure they are stored correctly
  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Packing Export & Domestic containers
  • Picking/packing and sending products to the correct location efficiently and accurately
  • Following process to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Record keeping accuracy
  • Stock quality management    
  • Quality control and cleaning
  • Computer Operation
  • Heavy lifting
  • De-vanning Import Containers

You will be professional and passionate about what you do, making a positive contribution to our business every day.

As an experienced Forklift Driver, you’ll understand the importance of adhering to Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safe and effective product handling and that your team go home safe every day and working as part of a dedicated and high performing team you will have a strong focus on health and safety. 

Your commitment to health and safely along with your ability to work well with others and your good housekeeping and hygiene standards will help you to succeed in this role. 

The successful applicant will also have:

  • An F endorsed forklift license and current OSH Certificate 
  • A strong focus on Health and Safety
  • A strong focus on High Performing Team Environments
  • Bring a great attitude that contributes to continuous improvement
  • Bar-coding, data entry
  • Experience driving 5 tons; LPG and electric forklifts
  • A continuous improvement focus
