Fonterra’s Takanini site is our largest domestic manufacturing site, located in South Auckland. Operating 24/7, we produce a range of fresh dairy products enjoyed by Kiwis every day.

About the opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced HSW Business Partner to join our New Zealand Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) team, based at our Takaanini site. This is a national-facing role supporting the National HSW Manager NZ in delivering our HSW Strategic Plan across multiple sites.
You’ll play a key part in coaching and supporting our site-based HSW Advisors, leading critical risk management initiatives, and embedding a strong safety culture across the Co-op.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of the NZ HSW Strategic Plan and Corporate HSW Business Plan
- Lead the rollout of Integrated Work Systems (IWS) and HSW management systems
- Coach and guide incident investigations and oversee corrective actions
- Deliver training and wellbeing programs across sites
- Facilitate risk reviews, assessments, and compliance activities
- Lead the implementation and assurance of critical risk frameworks for high-hazard processes
- Provide technical support and reporting using systems such as First Priority and Cority
- Support injury and claims management when required
- Coach business leaders in HSW practices and culture
About you | Mōu
You’re a confident and collaborative HSW professional with a strong background in operational risk management and safety leadership. You thrive in complex environments and enjoy coaching others to lift performance and embed best practice.
You’ll also bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in HSW roles within manufacturing or similar operational environments.
- Proven experience in incident investigation (ICAM or Root Cause Analysis).
- Strong understanding of risk management and critical risk frameworks.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and cloud-based systems.
- Experience in injury management and claims handling.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a related field.
- Cert IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent (preferred).
- A collaborative, authentic leadership style aligned with Fonterra’s values
