Mō tēnei tūranga | About the opportunity

Are you a passionate communicator with a knack for storytelling and a desire to make a real impact in New Zealand’s dairy industry? This is your chance to join our Corporate Communications team, with a particular focus on helping to shape how we communicate and engage our farmers shareholders.

Reporting to the Head of Farmer Communications, you’ll be responsible for creating engaging content for our farmer audience and managing key communication channels such as the My Co-op app, farmer emails, and webinars. You’ll also support internal communications for Farm Source and the wider Co-op, including platforms like Viva Engage.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a communications professional early in their career to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop compelling content for farmers – e.g. articles, videos, app posts
Manage farmer communication channels and webinars
Support internal communications across Farm Source and the Co-op
Monitor engagement and sentiment, and respond to farmer feedback
Collaborate with subject matter experts and business units to source great stories
Contribute to communications projects and initiatives

Mōu | About you

You’re a strong communicator with a passion for storytelling and a desire to grow your career in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment. You thrive in a fast-paced setting, are digitally savvy, and bring a proactive, can-do attitude to everything you do.

You’ll also have:

A tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related discipline

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English

Experience in multimedia content creation and channel management

The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities

A creative mindset and the confidence to think outside the box

A collaborative spirit and eagerness to build strong relationships across teams

Preferred:

Previous PR or writing experience—whether through internships, freelance work, or volunteer roles—is a plus.
