About the opportunity
Northern Tasmania is home to our Wynyard site which makes cheese and a range of powders for food companies. We take Tasmanian farmers’ milk and turn this into world-class dairy foods for both the domestic and export market.
As a Production Operator, you’ll be operating, monitoring and cleaning complex processes and packing machinery, ensuring the product specifications are met according to our customer requirements.
You’ll also record key product and process information in our database and use your mechanical capabilities to perform basic maintenance checks.
Due to the seasonality of our milk supply, this is a seasonal role where you work up to 42 weeks per year.
Key responsibilities:
We are looking for a switched-on, self-motivated Production Operator. As someone who can not only use their initiative and work autonomously, you’ll also be a great team player, working collaboratively with others to problem solve and identify improvement initiatives.
This is a busy role where you’ll need a strong mechanical aptitude and high regard for health and safety to succeed. A good understanding and commitment to manufacturing best practices and HACCP principles will also stand you in good stead.
Other key skills and experience include:
* Experience in the food industry or manufacturing environment
* Strong computer skills (SAP experience preferred)
* Advance numeracy and computer literacy
