Are you ready to shape the future of digital asset information and underground services mapping at one of New Zealand's most iconic companies? Fonterra is on the lookout for a forward-thinking Digital Asset & Engineering Manager to champion the use of digital technologies across engineering and capital projects, assets and operations.

In this pivotal role, it's not just about overseeing systems or tools, it's about actively shaping how digital technologies are applied to engineering workflows, project delivery, and asset management to lead a shift in mindset and capability across the business. You'll help teams work smarter, collaborate better, and harness digital tools to build and maintain infrastructure more effectively.

As we accelerate towards smarter infrastructure and digital integration, this role is an enabler across our Engineering and Project portfolios. From guiding project teams and vendors in best-practice information management to unlocking the power of P&ID's, underground services mapping through GIS, and emerging technologies, this position drives the transformation of how we see, share, and shape our built environment. It's about lifting capability, connecting data to make decisions and future-proofing the way we deliver complex infrastructure across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

As Digital Asset & Engineering Manager, you'll be at the heart of Fonterra's digital transformation journey - leading initiatives that shape how we manage and deliver engineering projects. Your key responsibilities will include

Lead the strategic development of Fonterra's 5-year Asset Data & Information roadmap in collaboration with the team, embedding BIM workflows and underground mapping to improve project quality, delivery efficiency, and alignment with long-term engineering goals.
Lead BIM and underground services mapping initiatives through GIS to enhance visibility, coordination, and digital delivery across engineering projects and operations.
Implement and enhance Fonterra's Information Management Framework, aligning with global standards like ISO 19650 and PAS 1192 to ensure consistency and quality.
Oversee data governance and Common Data Environments (CEDs), promoting standardisation, best-practice use of platforms like Autodesk Construction Cloud, SharePoint, and secure information flow.
Enable project teams and vendors through coaching and collaboration, building capability and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in digital engineering.
Drive stakeholder engagement and strategic partnerships, working with contractors, consultants and technology providers to support Fonterra's long-term digital transformation.

You're a visionary leader with a strategic mindset, driven by a passion for innovation, data and making a tangible impact. You understand the power of information and how it can transform compliance, improve asset performance, people safety and project outcomes. With a strong foundation in Information Management and digital technologies, you bring:

Exceptional stakeholder engagement and leadership skills, with a track record of influencing cross-functional teams, vendors, and senior leaders to drive digital transformation.
Strategic mindset and change leadership, with the ability to set long-term digital roadmaps, lift organisational capability, and embed a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Hands on experience developing and applying Information Management Frameworks, ideally aligned with ISO 19650, PAS 1192 or equivalent global standards.
Good knowledge of geospatial technologies including GIS, P&ID, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) systems, and underground services mapping, with a proven ability to integrate them into operational environments.
Professional certifications such as Operam Academy ISO 19650 professional/practitioner that demonstrate technical excellence and readiness to lead BIM initiatives. A valid Project Management Institute qualification such as CAPM or PMP would be advantageous.
5-10 years of project information Management, Project Management and/or Operations/manufacturing design experience - ideally within the food and beverage industry.
Strong Capability in data governance and Common Data Environments (CDE's) with proficiency in platforms such as Microsoft 365 and a focus on secure, structured information flow.
