The Opportunity

As a Maintenance Fitter, you’ll use your solid Mechanical experience to navigate through changing work priorities to plan and implement reliability and preventative maintenance initiatives, particularly around our cheese manufacturing and whey processing and packing equipment with a strong focus on Health and Safety and maintenance best practices.

The role will be a key member of the maintenance team comprising of Fitters & Electricians, Automation lead, Apprentices and working closely with our Engineering Store team.

Your forward thinking, drive, and ability to achieve results will benefit you here, as you’ll have plenty of scope to drive continuous improvement on equipment and process reliability with some of the industry's leading-edge automated technology.

A natural at coping with change, you’ll be capable of reacting to unplanned breakdowns and troubleshooting issues as they occur. Additional areas of focus will include writing standard operating procedures.

Operating in a fast-paced 24/7 environment, this role is a great opportunity to work as part of a close-knit technical team and test your skills.

We have two exciting opportunities available:

• Permanent Day Shift
• Rotating Shift Pattern: 2 nights on, 1 day off, 2 days on, followed by 3 consecutive days off

About you

To be successful in this role you must be a qualified Mechanical Fitter. The following skills and experience will be highly regarded:

• Demonstrated ability to diagnose faults and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Proven mechanical aptitude gained through hands-on maintenance experience.
• Computer literacy, with experience using MEX or similar maintenance management systems considered advantageous.
• Previous experience in a maintenance role within dairy, food, agricultural, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
• Experience carrying out equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and root cause failure analysis in an industrial setting.
•  Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Welding experience is desirable
