Fonterra’s Energy & Climate team are accountable for the development of Fonterra’s energy strategy which ensures that the Co-op has a secure, economic and sustainable energy supply both now and into the future.  Key initiatives within our energy strategy include improving energy efficiency and cost reduction activities, achieving our 2030 emission reduction target and transitioning from coal by 2037, exploring new technology and business model options, as well as energy regulatory advocacy.

The team work collaboratively across numerous other teams within Fonterra – as well as with the energy market and a range of stakeholders – to both inform and to give effect to our energy strategy.  We remain technology and fuel agnostic, challenging our assumptions and seeing what is possible to deliver the best outcome for Fonterra.
