About the Opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga
Our Kauri Farms near Whangarei play a key role in our vision to achieve sustainable management of the nutrients on farm within Fonterra’s Global Sustainability standards and guidelines, to realise the full value of any nutrients and secondary products that can be sold.

Reporting to the Farm Manager, you will play a key role in contributing to the day-to-day management of 500 ha, milking 280 cows twice a day, supporting heifer replacement and beef grazing, and the cut and carry operation.

You will contribute to the successful operation of the Kauri Farms, maintaining the ability of the farm to continue to receive nutrient dense streams from site processing activities. The role supports the farm team to implement a programme of transformational change on farm, so that we can continually optimise the irrigation capacity and nutrient spreading activities (within environmental and regulatory limits), developing innovative and best on farm practices. 

You will be an allrounder, competent and calm in the cowshed, lending your hand to daily farming activities which may include, but are not limited to milking dairy cows, tractor and farm machinery operation, farm maintenance activities, pasture and stock management. Your understanding of all things farming positive attitude and willingness to learn will take you a long way. You will be working in a great environment, supported by on the job mentoring as well as outside training and career progression makes this an opportunity that can’t be missed.
                 
About You | Mōu
We are looking for someone who has a strong interest in making a career in stock and pasture management and/or ideally have a farming background in dairy production.  

You will also bring:
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to establish effective working relationships
  • Ability to safely operate a tractor and farm machinery
  • General administration and computer skills would be ideal
  • Agribusiness or a farming education would also be well regarded in this role.
